The vSphere Web Client user interface uses user-friendly names for the default types of vSphere-managed objects. However, the service APIs, extension points, and libraries in the vSphere Web Client SDK refer to vSphere objects using the naming convention established by the vSphere API. vSphere Entity Names in the UI and SDK Code contains a mapping of names in the vSphere Web Client user interface to the object type names used in the vSphere Web Client SDK.
